In the Beginning
The original concept for ThatResumeSite.com was created by
Patrick Milliken in the early 2000s in response to his need for
a more effective way to manage his personal resumes. Tired of cutting and
pasting into multiple copies of Word documents, he envisioned a
system in which he could created the elements of a resume and
then update and rearrange them as the needs of a job dictated.
In 2008, Mr. Milliken decided to redevelop the application using
the latest version of Microsoft's .NET technologies with an eye
toward "AJAXifying" as much of the application as possible. During
a casual lunch with Mr. Cooper, Mr. Milliken mentioned the project
and Mr. Cooper enthusiastically suggested that they take the
application to market. It was then that ThatResumeSite.com was
born.
Our Team
Patrick Milliken - Founder & Chief Technologist
Mr. Milliken received his MFA in Creative Writing from the
University of Iowa's Writers' Workshop where he learned, among
other things, the value of paying attention to detail. In the
early 80s, he moved to Dallas and embarked on a career in Human
Resources with a focus on Employment and Staffing. In the mid 90s,
he started developing applications and quickly moved into Web
development. ThatResumeSite.com is the natural outgrowth of
the combination of these experiences.
Brendan Cooper - Operations Managing Partner
Mr. Cooper has lead high-growth organizations for the last 15 years.
He has been instrumental in transitioning four different companies
through $50 Million in revenue. He has successfully operationalized
companies using information technology and teamwork to manage explosive
growth. Companies include technology, manufacturing, transportation and
health care industries. Mr. Cooper holds a degree in Finance from the
University of Texas at Austin.
Christopher Baken - Marketing Managing Partner
Mr. Baken received his BS in Economics from the University of
North Texas where he served as President of the Economics Club
throughout his Senior year. He spearheaded the development of
the Economics Club website and oversaw an increase in club
membership from one dozen to more than 30 active members. He
is currently acting Vice President of Public Relations for
Addison Singles Toastmasters (a public speaking group) and an
avid reader of Sales and Marketing books.
